Jakarta (ANTARA) - Omoda & Jaecoo continues to fulfil its commitment in the domestic automotive market with the introduction of its latest model featuring the new Super Intelligent Valet Parking (SIVP) technology on the J7 SHS-P SIVP at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026.

Business Unit Director of Omoda & Jaecoo Indonesia, Jim Ma, said the development of the technology was driven by growing mobility challenges in urban areas, particularly limited parking space and heavy traffic congestion.

“We are seeing changes in consumer needs as urban mobility develops. Users now want not only vehicles with advanced technology, but technology that can help solve the challenges they face every day,” said Jim Ma at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on Thursday.

SIVP is an automated parking technology that enables the vehicle to find a parking space independently and return to the driver via an application on a smartphone.

To support this feature, the Jaecoo J7 SHS-P SIVP is equipped with an intelligent driving system integrating 27 sensors and cameras around the vehicle.

The system is also fitted with a 128-channel DTOF LiDAR, millimetre-wave radar capable of detecting objects up to 280 metres in front and 200 metres to the side of the vehicle, and cameras providing monitoring coverage around the car.

All data from these devices is processed through the Intelligent Driving Domain Controller, allowing the vehicle to recognise surrounding conditions and carry out parking manoeuvres automatically.

In a demonstration held at GIIAS 2026, the driver could leave the vehicle after designating a parking area.

The car would then find an available parking space and park itself independently.

According to Jim Ma, Indonesia was chosen as the first country for the global launch of SIVP technology before it is expanded to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Thailand.

The company also revealed that the first phase of implementation will begin in October 2026 at 40 locations.

In the next phase, scheduled to run until the end of 2026, service coverage will be expanded to more than 60 locations, including shopping centres, public areas and office buildings.

Alongside the launch of the technology, Omoda & Jaecoo has also opened pre-orders for the Jaecoo J7 SHS-P SIVP through the company’s official website during GIIAS 2026.
