Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ombudsman RI stressed that strengthening integrity and collaboration with universities is crucial for enhancing public service quality.
Wakil Ketua Ombudsman RI, Rahmadi Indra Tektona, stated that the main challenge facing the institution is maintaining integrity and public trust in the Ombudsman as a public service watchdog.
“I must take responsibility for the continuity of the Ombudsman RI. Therefore, we are continuously working to improve the system to maximise public service,” Rahmadi said in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Saturday.
He added that collaboration with universities is a strategic step to strengthen research, human resource development, and education on public service and maladministration.
As part of these efforts, the Ombudsman RI signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation Agreement with Sriwijaya University at the university’s Law Faculty in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Thursday (21 May).
“We are open to collaboration in research, internships, and the development of journals and academic studies. The Ombudsman must be close to the campus world,” he said.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector III of Sriwijaya University, Radiyati Umi Partan, viewed the collaboration as a strategic opportunity to strengthen public service quality and support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
“This collaboration is not merely administrative but must have tangible impacts on strengthening integrity, public service, research, and community service,” Radiyati said.
Previously, the Ombudsman RI also signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation Agreement with Raden Fatah State Islamic University in Palembang as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration with universities in South Sumatra.
