Ombudsman Reports Alleged Maladministration in MBG Distribution to Denpasar KPPG
The Representative of the Indonesian Ombudsman for West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has reported allegations of widespread maladministration in the distribution of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme to the Denpasar Nutrition Fulfilment Services Office (KPPG) for the Bali-Nusra region.
The Head of the Inspection Reports Assistance Division of the NTB Ombudsman Representative, Arya Wiguna, stated that his institution has received various complaints from the public regarding the MBG distribution. These reports indicate suspected maladministration in the implementation of the MBG programme.
“Some of the issues that are of concern include the distribution of expired milk, spoiled pudding, food unfit for consumption, and interference from third parties which is deemed to hinder the optimal functioning of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG),” Arya emphasised in his statement on Monday evening (27/4/2026).
In addition, the NTB Ombudsman has uncovered cases of food poisoning among schoolchildren who consumed MBG programme food.
“We want to convey this and make it a serious concern because it relates to the public’s right to receive quality services,” Arya said.
Arya mentioned that the coordination conducted with KPPG regarding various issues arising in NTB’s MBG distribution can be promptly followed up to improve service quality.
“We hope that in the future, problems related to suspected maladministration in MBG services in NTB can be rectified,” Arya hoped.
Meanwhile, the Head of KPPG Denpasar for the Bali-Nusra region, Mursinah Wahyuningsih Daeng, stated that synergy between the Ombudsman and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is very important to ensure that nutrition fulfilment services for the public run well.
“In principle, the goals of the Ombudsman and BGN are the same, namely to provide the best nutrition fulfilment services for the beneficiaries,” Mursinah explained.
Mursinah also affirmed that KPPG Denpasar for the Bali-Nusra region will seriously follow up on the findings of the NTB Ombudsman in the field. According to her, this Ombudsman report is expected to be the initial step in strengthening supervision and improving the MBG service system in the NTB region.
“It is hoped that the public can receive the programme benefits in a safe, proper, and quality manner,” Mursinah clarified.
