Ombudsman Prepared to Disclose Findings on Luxury Housing in Cibinong Prison During DPR Meeting
Commission II of the DPR will hold a meeting with the Ombudsman today. The Chairman of the Ombudsman, Nuzran Joher, has ensured that his institution will be fully transparent regarding the findings of luxury housing within the Cibinong Prison.
“Today, we will submit an official written report of our investigation results to Commission II of the DPR. Following that, we will present it to the Minister, the President, and in this instance, to the Head of Special Supervision,” Nuzran told reporters at the Ombudsman office in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (29/09/2026).
Nuzran also responded to the results of the hearing between Commission XIII of the DPR and the inactive Head of Cibinong Prison, Wisnu Hani Putranto, on Monday (28/09). He stated that the Ombudsman would disclose all findings obtained.
“Yes, once again, we will provide the facts from the field; that is what we will present. In Commission II, we will present them as extensively and deeply as possible, including the facts of what occurred on the 23rd,” Nuzran explained.
Nuzran declined to speculate on the discrepancies between the findings of the Ombudsman’s inspection and those of the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services (Kemenimipas) at Cibinong Prison. He noted that every fact obtained by the Ombudsman would be presented to the DPR today.
“Once again, regarding the differing findings, we leave that to the Head of Special Supervision, and the Minister has also seen it personally. The Ombudsman will simply present the facts as they are to Commission II,” he added.
Five Cibinong Prison Officials Suspended
Previously, the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services suspended five structural officials at the Class IIA Cibinong Prison. The five officials include the Head of the Prison (Kalapas), the Head of Prison Security (KPLP), the Head of the Guidance and Education Section, the Head of the Security and Order Section, and the Head of General Affairs.
The suspension of these five officials was announced by the Inspector General of the Ministry, Rudi Setiawan, on-site. Rudi had been inspecting the Cibinong Prison since morning and afternoon following orders to lead the investigation by the Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services, Agus Andrianto.
“Under the direction and orders of the Minister, we are acting as the internal investigators for the Ministry. He has instructed us to collaborate with the Director General of Corrections to follow up on the findings made by the Ombudsman team,” Rudi told reporters at the location on Saturday (26/09).
Rudi stated that the five officials were suspended pending investigation, as they were deemed responsible for the findings reported by the Ombudsman.
“We have suspended five structural officials suspected of being responsible for the events discovered by the Ombudsman. I can confirm that we have suspended the Head of the Prison, the KPLP, the Head of Guidance and Education, the Head of Security and Order, and finally, the Head of General Affairs responsible for state-owned goods,” Rudi said.
