Ombudsman Investigates Alleged Maladministration in West Java's PCMB-SPMB Student Selection

The West Java Ombudsman will investigate alleged maladministration in the prospective new student mapping (PCMB) and new student admission selection (SPMB) for the senior high school level. They have received complaint reports from parents and the West Java branch of the Indonesian Education Retirees Association.

Acting Head of the West Java Ombudsman, Fitry Agustine, confirmed receiving a complaint report from the Indonesian Education Retirees Association regarding the implementation of the 2026 PCMB-SPMB. Her office has also received complaints from parents.

“We are following up because they meet the legal standing as direct victims. There were complainants earlier, and we will follow up by coordinating with the Education Agency,” she said on Monday (15/6/2026).

She stated that the possibility of conducting an examination of the West Java Education Agency cannot be ruled out. However, the timing of the examination cannot be disclosed publicly. “We cannot tell you when, because examinations are confidential,” she said.

Her office will seek to prove whether maladministration occurred in the implementation of the 2026 PCMB and SPMB. A number of parents reported the West Java Education Agency to the Ombudsman over the alleged maladministration in the 2026 high school SPMB and PCMB, resulting in significant losses for the public.

“We see indications of maladministration violations committed by the West Java Education Agency,” said the Chairman of the West Java Indonesian Education Retirees Association (P3I), Iwan Hermawan, on Monday (15/6/2026).
