Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia has stated that, in general, the implementation of the 2026 Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) - National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT) is monitored to be proceeding orderly.

During monitoring at the University of Indonesia, Depok, West Java, on Thursday (23/4), Ombudsman RI member Nuzran Joher observed various preparations for the UTBK, starting from the arrival process of participants, registration process, flow into the examination room, body checks for participants, up to the examination implementation.

“We also observed the readiness of facilities for persons with disabilities, considering that on the morning of Thursday (23/4), it was the examination session for visually impaired participants,” said Nuzran, as quoted from a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Friday.

Nevertheless, the Ombudsman has noted several reports regarding technical obstacles in the field, such as power outages and internet network disruptions that have the potential to disturb participants’ concentration.

In addition, the Ombudsman has received initial information regarding alleged cheating at several locations, which is currently being verified by the National New Student Admission Selection Committee (SNPMB).

Nuzran stated that the 2026 UTBK-SNBT implementation is scheduled to run until 2 May 2026, and the Ombudsman will continue monitoring during that period, including at the provincial-level Ombudsman Representative Offices, to ensure the process runs transparently, fairly, and accountably.

“We urge the public to join together in praying for the smoothness and success of the participants,” he said.

If cheating is found, he invites the public to report to the Ombudsman, and his institution is ready to receive public complaints for the improvement of governance in the national selection admission process.

Nuzran conducted monitoring of the 2026 UTBK-SNBT implementation at UI to ensure the quality of services and readiness of the national new student admission selection organisation.

During the monitoring at the UI Faculty of Computer Science building, Nuzran was accompanied by the Main Assistant Team VII of the Ombudsman and received by the Executive Secretary of SNPMB, Bekti Cahyo Hidayanto, along with the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of the University of Indonesia, Mahmud Sudibandriyo.

The monitoring was carried out comprehensively on the UTBK implementation flow, starting from the participant registration process, entry into the examination room, up to the examination implementation.
