Ombudsman ensures smooth Hajj services for inaugural 2026 flight group
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia has ensured that services for the first flight group of the 2026 Hajj run smoothly, by directly monitoring the departure of the initial batch of Hajj pilgrims from the Pondok Gede embarkation point in East Jakarta on Tuesday (21/4).
Ombudsman member Nuzron Joher stated that the monitoring of the departure of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims for 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE is part of the Ombudsman’s duties and functions in overseeing public services in the organisation of the Hajj pilgrimage by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
“During the departure of the first batch, we have dialogued with the pilgrims about health, facilities, and other service rights. Alhamdulillah, there were no problems,” said Nuzron, as quoted from a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Nuzron committed to continuing the monitoring of the Hajj departure process and hopes that the pilgrims can perform their worship smoothly.
Thus, it is hoped that all pilgrims, especially the first batch, remain healthy and can perform their worship well, resulting in a mabrur Hajj.
Nuzron, along with other Ombudsman member Partono, witnessed the departure and dialogued with the pilgrims to ensure health conditions, facilities, and fulfilment of service rights.
Additionally, the two also met with the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf Hasyim, to ensure the readiness of the Hajj organisation.
Also present at the event were the Director General of Hajj and Umrah Services of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj), the Inspector General of Kemenhaj, the Director of Hajj and Umrah Services of Kemenhaj, the Head of the Regional Office of Kemenhaj, the Head of the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, as well as Syarikah from Saudi Arabia.
A total of 391 prospective Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in the first batch from the Pondok Gede embarkation point in Jakarta were departed on the first flight group (kloter) to the Holy Land on Wednesday in the early hours.
These hundreds of prospective Hajj pilgrims were flown to Madinah via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) in Tangerang, Banten, around 00:45 WIB using Garuda Indonesia airline.
“Tonight, the pilgrims of batch 1 CKG from the Pondok Gede embarkation point, approximately 391 people, have arrived. They entered Terminal 2F and then underwent the departure preparation process before being flown,” said Assistant Deputy for Communication and Legal Affairs at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Yudistiawan, in Tangerang on Wednesday.
Before the flight, the 391 prospective pilgrims were immediately directed to Terminal 2F, which specifically serves Hajj flights. They underwent preparation and inspection processes through the Makkah Route (fast track) for Saudi immigration.
