Muscat — Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi conveyed during a telephone call on Sunday, 1 March, that Iran remains open to “serious efforts” aimed at de-escalation and dialogue.

Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi received a telephone call from Araghchi, during which Iran expressed appreciation for Oman’s diplomatic role and its continued efforts to reduce tensions and support negotiations.

According to the statement, Araghchi said Iran remains committed to peace and is open to serious efforts to ease tensions that could help prevent conflict escalation and restore regional stability.

Albusaidi reaffirmed Oman’s support for dialogue and diplomatic solutions to address tensions and promote stability.

The United States and Israel launched large-scale attacks against Iran on Saturday, 28 February, killing Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several other senior officials. The combined assault triggered retaliatory strikes by Iran against numerous Israeli and American targets throughout the Middle East.
