Muscat - Officials from Oman, led by Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, held talks with an Iranian delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi regarding freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and recent regional developments. According to a statement from Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, both parties discussed the principles governing freedom of navigation in the strategic waterway in accordance with international law. The statement noted that they also exchanged views on recent developments and ways to strengthen maritime navigation security, trade flows, and supply chains. During the meeting, Al Busaidi received an oral message from Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi regarding ongoing Iran-US talks mediated by Pakistan.
