Sanggar Omah Wayang held a dance competency test at Djogan Seni, Sumberejo, South Klaten, on Sunday (28/6). The event, titled Samoda #9, was attended by 165 children divided into 14 dance groups. The participants included 120 children, 39 teenagers, and 17 Balinese dance students. The competency test was attended by representatives from the Klaten Regency Culture, Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office, the Education Office, the Arts Council, and local cultural figures. Tri Raharjo, a cultural figure and also the Head of Sumberejo Village, stated that learning traditional dance is crucial for strengthening the mentality and character of the younger generation in the era of modernisation. He emphasised that art studios play a strategic role as government partners in preserving and developing cultural arts.
