Olly Dondokambey Accompanies Pramono Anung in Inaugurating KGPM Building in Kramat
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, accompanied by Olly Dondokambey, Second Chairperson from the non-clergy element of the Daily Workers’ Council (MPH) of the Communion of Churches in Indonesia (PGI) for the 2024–2029 term, inaugurated the Minahasa Protestant Church Assembly (KGPM) Building on Jalan Kramat V, Senen, Central Jakarta, on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
Pramono said the church in Kramat is the result of the hard work and collective effort of the KGPM congregation. He therefore expressed his appreciation for the building’s establishment. “This church is entirely the result of the hard work and collective effort of KGPM, and I am among those who give it the highest appreciation,” Pramono said in an official statement.
The presence of a church in a densely populated area, he said, can bring an atmosphere of peace and harmony. Pramono said he deliberately attended in person to inaugurate the church as a form of appreciation for the congregation’s contributions. “And I intentionally came to inaugurate it as part of that appreciation,” he said.
Pramono said the inauguration of the house of worship is a reflection of the Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment to maintaining tolerance and diversity. He hopes the church’s presence will further strengthen harmony in the community. “Hopefully the spirit of tolerance in Jakarta will become much better,” he said.
