Oki's lawyers in battle
JAKARTA (JP): Amir Syamsuddin, former lawyer of suspected
murderer Oki, lodged a formal complaint yesterday with the police
against Oki's current lawyers, Ruhut Sitompoel and Tommy
Sihotang, for allegedly blackening his name with the public.
Amir said at a press conference that Ruhut had told reporters
and several people at the South Jakarta district court that Amir
had asked Oki to choose him as his lawyer in the case of a triple
murder in Los Angeles, in which Oki is the main suspect.
Amir said he had been accused several times by Tommy, through
media reports, of colluding with several city police officers
during the arrest of Oki, whose full name is Harnoko Dewantono.
"I don't know what they (Ruhut and company) want, given that I
withdrew from the case last month," said Amir.
"I have tried to be patient, but now I'm so tired of hearing
their accusations," he said. (bsr)
