A number of online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol) in Bogor City have begun receiving the Eid al-Fitr holiday allowance (BHR) from the app operators ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. The amounts received by drivers vary, depending on their performance over the past year. One driver, Opan Sopiandi (68), said he received Rp900,000, the maximum BHR for two-wheeler drivers. “Alhamdulillah I got Rp900,000,” he said at Bogor City Square, on Friday 6 March 2026. Opan explained that the maximum amount was earned because he had maintained his performance as a driver over the past year. “As for the ‘Hope’ category, it is based on hours on the road. If it is the ‘Champion’ category, it should be 300 like me. I am a champion,” he added. Opan said maintaining work performance reflects his seriousness in serving customers. In addition, the father of four said he must continue working hard to meet his family’s needs, including funding one child who is still at school. “What we chase is the kitchen, for the family’s needs as well. We still have school-age children,” he said. Another driver, Bambang Kurniawan (45), said he also received the BHR from the app operator amounting to Rp350,000. Bambang plans to use the money to pay zakat for his family. “Yes, the zakat is for five people; the rest perhaps charity,” he said on Friday 6 March 2026. “Yes, one must be diligent; the second thing is not to cancel customers often, because that reduces performance as well; that can reduce it further. That is the gist: be diligent every day.” Nevertheless, Bambang admitted that the chance of obtaining a larger BHR would be greater if the operator’s rules were communicated earlier. “Yes, of course. The rules are sudden like this. So the possibility of receiving it is there,” he said. He added that earlier information would allow drivers to prepare themselves better to meet BHR eligibility requirements. “I don’t know how the rules work because they were abrupt. So with rules like this, we do not know; if there were rules that you must follow, preparations should have been made since last year,” he concluded.
