Ojol Drivers in Bekasi Receive Eid al-Fitr BHR: Payouts Range from Rp150,000 to Rp900,000

Bekasi, KOMPAS.com — A number of online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers in Bekasi City and Regency say they have received the Eid al-Fitr Raya Assistance (BHR) ahead of Lebaran 2026. However, the amounts vary, from Rp150,000 to Rp900,000. ‘Alhamdulillah the BHR from the Ojol programme has been disbursed. For me personally, the amount is Rp150,000,’ said Adika Fadhil, 30, an ojol driver in Bekasi Selatan, to Kompas.com on Friday, 6 March 2026. While grateful, he added that the nominal amount does not yet meet expectations and the mechanism is not transparent. ‘There are many colleagues who have been ojol for more than ten years, but many others do not receive anything. So the distribution is not even,’ he said. Another driver, Edi Sugiyanto, 50, said he received Rp900,000 because his annual performance was deemed high. ‘For me personally I received around Rp900,000. Last year it was Rp900,000 as well,’ he said. ‘People always hope, but I don’t expect to receive a fixed amount. All of that is fortune,’ he added. Abu Bakar, 48, received Rp500,000, up from last year’s Rp150,000. He plans to use the money for Lebaran shopping. ‘It’s enough as extra Lebaran shopping,’ he said. The government, together with online transport firms, targeted around 850,000 driver partners to receive BHR, with a total budget of Rp220 billion. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the programme had been discussed intensively with the app providers, and that there is a strong commitment from them.
