Jakarta, 25 May 2026. The Task Force for Eliminating Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) has shut down business operations suspected of fraud through impersonation or misuse of licensed foreign companies’ names, namely Appeninc and VID. Additionally, Satgas PASTI has halted Sensenowai’s activities, which are suspected of cryptocurrency investment fraud.

Appeninc and VID

Appeninc is alleged to have impersonated Appen Inc, a company licensed in Colorado, United States. VID is suspected of impersonating Video Media Company Limited, a UK-based advertising agency. Both Appen Inc and Video Media Company Limited are known not to engage in investment offerings.

Following verification, Appeninc and VID were found to operate in violation of permits issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Investment and Industrialisation/BKPM, with their apps and websites not registered as Electronic System Providers (PSE) with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs.

Appeninc is suspected of running a scam via an app requiring users to guess images for tasks, while VID allegedly used an app for watching ads and offering fake project financing. Both required members to deposit funds and recruit new members (member get member) for daily earnings and bonuses.

Sensenowai

Sensenowai is suspected of cryptocurrency investment fraud through a copy trading service via the Wapex app. It required members to deposit funds and recruit new members for daily earnings and bonuses.

Verification showed Sensenowai operated across several regions in Indonesia under limited liability company (PT) or sole proprietorship status. However, its activities violated BKPM permits and lacked PSE registration with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs.

Next Steps by Satgas PASTI

In response to these findings, Satgas PASTI has suspended Appeninc, VID, and Sensenowai’s operations and will block access to related apps and URLs. The task force will coordinate with law enforcement for further action. Victims are urged to report to local authorities to expedite handling. Satgas PASTI advises the public to remain vigilant against investment or financial offers promising high, unrealistic returns, particularly those using licensed foreign company names without clear Indonesian legal status. Illegal investment or online loan offers can be reported via sipasti.ojk.go.id, OJK Contact 157, WhatsApp 081157157157, or email konsumen@ojk.go.id. Financial scam victims can report via the Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre (IASC) at iasc.ojk.go.id to support swift account blocking.
