OJK's Pasti Task Force Shuts Down 27 Illegal Private Pawnshops and 228 Illegal Digital Asset Traders
The Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas Pasti) of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) has ceased the business activities of 27 unlicensed (illegal) private pawnshop entities during the April-May 2026 period. Additionally, the task force has stopped the operations of 228 illegal Digital Financial Asset Traders (PAKD) throughout January-May 2026 for conducting activities not in accordance with statutory regulations. The cessation of illegal private pawnshops was carried out based on Article 319 of Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (UU P2SK), which requires all pawnshop business operators to fulfil licensing requirements by 12 January 2026 at the latest. Meanwhile, the cessation of illegal PAKD was based on the provisions of OJK Regulation (POJK) Number 27 of 2024, which stipulates that the List of Crypto Assets (DAK) is determined by the Crypto Exchange. Through these efforts, the total amount of victim funds successfully blocked reached approximately Rp638.9 billion, and the Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre (IASC) has returned victim funds amounting to Rp196.93 billion originating from accounts used by fraud perpetrators. Hudiyanto, Head of the OJK Satgas Pasti Secretariat, assured that the task force continues to enhance coordination among members and relevant agencies to suppress the spread of illegal financial activities in the digital space. He urged the public to report any indications of illegal investment offers and financial transaction fraud through the website sipasti.ojk.go.id, while victims of financial transaction fraud can report via iasc.ojk.go.id to support the rapid blocking of perpetrators’ accounts.
