The revocation of this business licence is part of the supervisory actions taken by OJK to strengthen the banking industry and maintain public confidence.

Padang (ANTARA) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) of West Sumatra has revoked the business licence of PT Bank Perekonomian Rakyat (BPR) Pembangunan Nagari, located at Simpang Gudang, Desa Balai Satu Manggopoh, Agam.

The decision to revoke the licence is contained in the Decision of the OJK Board Member No. KEP-28/D.03/2026 dated 31 March 2026 regarding the Revocation of the Business Licence of PT BPR Pembangunan Nagari.

“The revocation of the business licence is part of the supervisory actions taken by OJK to strengthen the banking industry and safeguard public confidence,” said the Head of OJK West Sumatra, Roni Nazra, in Padang on Tuesday.

He explained that the revocation was not carried out abruptly but followed various processes and recovery efforts starting from last year.

According to him, on 5 March 2025, OJK had placed PT BPR Pembangunan Nagari under the status of BPR in Recovery (BDP).

Subsequently, on 3 March 2026, OJK placed PT BPR Pembangunan Nagari under the status of BPR in Resolution (BDR), considering that OJK had given sufficient time to the management and shareholders.

That time was deliberately provided to carry out recovery efforts, particularly in addressing the capital and liquidity issues of the BPR.

This refers to the Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) No. 28 of 2023 dated 29 December 2023, on the determination of status and follow-up supervision of BPR and Sharia BPR.

“However, the management and shareholders of PT BPR Pembangunan Nagari were unable to recover the condition of the aforementioned BPR,” Roni clarified.

He stated that following this, the Decision of the Board Member of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) No. 46/ADK3/2026 dated 16 March 2026 was issued, regarding the method of handling the bank in resolution PT BPR Pembangunan Nagari.

The LPS determined the handling method for BDR PT BPR Pembangunan Nagari through liquidation and requested OJK to revoke the business licence of the said BPR.

Roni continued that to follow up on the LPS request, OJK, based on Article 19 of the POJK, finally revoked the business licence of PT BPR Pembangunan Nagari.

Regarding the revocation of the business licence, the LPS will carry out its guarantee function and liquidation process in accordance with Law No. 24 of 2004 and Law No. 4 of 2023.

OJK West Sumatra advises customers of PT BPR Pembangunan Nagari to remain calm, as public funds in banking, including BPR, are guaranteed by the LPS in accordance with applicable provisions.

In another development, this revocation of a BPR licence is the second time it has been carried out by OJK Sumbar in the period from January 2026 to 31 March.

Previously, OJK also revoked the business licence of PT BPR Suliki Gunung Mas, located in Suliki, Lima Puluh Kota Regency.
