OJK Uncovers Illegal Investment in BLN Cooperative, Chairman Arrested

The Illegal Financial Activities Eradication Task Force (Satgas Pasti) has successfully uncovered the unauthorised collection of public funds conducted by the Bahana Lintas Nusantara Cooperative (Koperasi BLN). The exposure of the BLN Cooperative case was achieved through a series of investigations conducted by the Task Force, which included joint inspections involving members from the OJK, the Central Java Regional Police, the Central Java Cooperative Office, and the Central Java Investment and PTSP Office.

Furthermore, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) and the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK), as members of the Task Force, conducted profiling of the perpetrators, assessed the potential impact, and traced the fund collection activities carried out by Koperasi BLN. Through coordination between Task Force members, the case proceeded to the arrest of the suspect, Nicholas Nyoto Prasetyo, the Chairman of Koperasi BLN.

Nicholas is alleged to have collected public funds without a permit through various products, including savings programmes offering interest rates as high as 4.17% per month. The successful handling of this case serves as tangible evidence that synergy between authorities, ministries, and agencies—both within and outside the Task Force—is a key element in addressing the increasingly complex and harmful threats of illegal financial activities.
