The Financial Services Authority (OJK) will use statistical data from the past year as a reference for determining the eligibility of securities companies in submitting candidate packages. This measure is intended to ensure the quality and competence of candidate directors for the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI).

According to Hasan, the deadline for submitting the candidate director packages for BEI is 4 May 2026. This statement was made to reporters following the inauguration of the OJK Board of Commissioners on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

Furthermore, Hasan emphasised that securities companies, as shareholders, have an obligation to conduct reviews, research, and assessments of the competence and eligibility of each candidate director for BEI. This evaluation covers candidates for positions such as president director, trading director, listing director, and other roles.

OJK provides flexibility to securities companies to compile BEI director candidate packages in accordance with market mechanisms. This is regarded as the prerogative of BEI shareholders. Quoted from Investasi, OJK hopes that the names of candidates submitted have been well-screened by the securities companies.

Although no official submissions have yet been received by OJK, Hasan stated that he does not object to the names of BEI director candidate packages that are already circulating. The period for preparing and submitting these candidate packages for the exchange is currently underway.

Once the candidate names are submitted to OJK, the institution will establish a selection committee (pansel). This committee will be chaired by the deputy commissioner in the Capital Market and Derivatives Finance (PMDK) sector, along with its members, in accordance with applicable regulations.

As additional information, from January to mid-March 2026, institutional foreign investors have shown significant interest in shares of gold producers.
