Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Executive Head of the Capital Market, Financial Derivatives, and Exchange Supervisory Authority of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Hasan Fawzi, stated that the selected candidates for the board of directors of PT Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) will be announced by 22 June at the latest.

“At the latest one week before the implementation of the shareholders’ meeting (RUPS) of the exchange (BEI), if I’m not mistaken, the RUPS is on 29 June, so by 22 June at the latest we will announce (the selected candidates),” he said to journalists when met in Jakarta on Monday.

He explained that there are currently two packages of candidate directors for PT BEI submitted, and the registration files of those candidates are now in the administrative verification stage. Meanwhile, the registration deadline is set to end on 4 May 2026.

In addition, his side has also formed a selection committee to select the lineup of candidate directors for PT BEI, directors for PT Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI), and commissioners for PT Indonesian Central Counterparty (KPEI). No, wait: directors for PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia (KPEI), and commissioners for PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI).

He also urged the candidate directors to truly understand the tasks they will undertake in the midst of various market challenges and increasingly complex global economic conditions.

His side wants there to be closer synergy and collaboration with the new BEI board of directors to encourage reforms and deepening of the capital market in Indonesia.

“We at OJK want to ensure there is the best exchange board partner (BEI) that can guide the reform agendas for integrity and the market deepening agenda that we have initiated at OJK together with all stakeholders in the capital market,” said Hasan Fawzi.

From the total of five candidate directors, he assured there will be elements of representation, which come from brokers, issuers, professionals, regulators, and so on.

“This includes elements of representation. There are two that must come from Exchange Members so they also represent the interests of the main actors, then one from issuers, and one other from professionals, one from regulators, and so on,” said Hasan.
