OJK Summons Kredivo and KreditFazz Over Debt Collector Misconduct, Issues Six Directives
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has summoned the management of PT Kredivo Finance Indonesia (Kredivo) and PT KreditFazz Digital Indonesia following information circulating on social media regarding alleged misconduct by debt collectors against a consumer in Purworejo Regency, Central Java.
Agus Firmansyah, Head of OJK’s Financial Sector Surveillance and Integrated Policy Department, said the regulator requested an explanation of the chronology of events, the results of its preliminary inquiry, handling measures already taken, and improvement plans to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
“Based on the initial explanation provided to OJK, the consumer concerned is a Kredivo app user, while the cash loan facility at the centre of the problem is a KreditFazz product marketed through that application. Field collection activities were carried out by a collection service provider working in partnership with KreditFazz,” Agus said in a statement on Friday, 24 July 2026.
He emphasised that the financing company (PUJK) remains responsible for activities carried out by third parties for and on its behalf. The use of a collection service provider does not transfer the PUJK’s obligation to ensure all collection activities are conducted in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations, consumer protection principles, and applicable ethical standards.
In this regard, OJK has requested that PT Kredivo Finance Indonesia and PT KreditFazz Digital Indonesia:
conduct a thorough, objective and documented internal investigation involving all relevant parties;
report the investigation results and follow-up progress to OJK;
evaluate the governance of third-party engagement, including the selection, supervision, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for collection service providers;
review and strengthen policies, procedures and operational standards for collection activities;
take action against any party proven to have committed violations based on the investigation results; and
carry out corrective measures and convey accurate information to consumers and the public.
Agus said OJK is still examining the matter further and will review relevant documents and information, including the internal investigation results, cooperation agreements with the collection service provider, collection policies and procedures, and other supporting documents.
