OJK Summons KoinP2P Management over Case Involving Three Executives
Semarang, Central Java (ANTARA) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has summoned the directors and shareholders of PT Lunaria Annua Teknologi (KoinP2P), a subsidiary of PT Sejahtera Lunaria Annua (KoinWorks), to follow up on a case involving three company executives.
“In connection with the ongoing legal process and the detention of KoinP2P directors by the Jakarta Special Region High Prosecutor’s Office, OJK has summoned the shareholders,” said Head of the Surveillance and Integrated Financial Services Sector Policy Department, Agus Firmansyah.
In a written statement received in Semarang, Central Java, on Friday, OJK stated that the summoning aims to affirm that responsibility for the continuity of KoinP2P’s business activities remains with the shareholders.
“This includes ensuring that operations and services to the public continue to run in accordance with applicable regulations,” he added.
In addition, OJK is conducting direct inspections and a comprehensive evaluation of KoinP2P’s operations, infrastructure, governance, and business model, including instructing necessary improvement measures.
Other actions taken include conducting special examinations/investigative audits in accordance with applicable provisions.
Furthermore, OJK is carrying out strict monitoring of efforts to settle obligations to lenders, resolve problematic financing, and other fundamental improvement measures to maintain business continuity and public services.
Finally, OJK is encouraging associations to take necessary steps to keep the peer-to-peer lending (p2p lending) industry healthy and contributing to public financing, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Agus stated that OJK respects and fully supports the law enforcement process carried out by law enforcement authorities in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
“OJK is currently intensively supervising KoinP2P as an Information Technology-based Collective Funding Service Provider (LPBBTI/p2p lending),” said Agus.
