The Financial Services Authority (OJK), through the Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI), has halted activities conducted by several Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in Indonesia who were advertising unlicensed (illegal) Digital Financial Asset Traders (PAKD).

Hudiyanto, Secretariat of the Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities, stated that his party had summoned a number of KOLs to request explanations and clarification regarding alleged links to unlicensed PAKDs. “As a follow-up, several of these KOLs have taken down and adjusted content containing offers from unlicensed PAKDs,” he said in a written statement on Thursday (18/6/2026).

Regarding the dissemination of information in the financial services sector, he emphasised that KOLs must not publish or promote unlicensed PAKDs. The OJK has established a list of PAKDs as the primary reference, and it can be confirmed that parties not listed are not licensed and/or supervised by the OJK, thus potentially causing losses to the public.

In connection with this, Satgas PASTI urged KOLs to conduct adequate analysis and/or research before conveying information, ensuring the legality of the parties, platforms, and products being promoted, including verifying that the PAKD is licensed and its products are permitted for trading in Indonesia.

Furthermore, they must convey information clearly, truthfully, and not misleadingly, including fully informing about risks and potential profits. They must not use misleading claims, such as promises of high returns, risk-free investments, or fictitious testimonials. They must apply the principle of transparency in content delivery, including when there is an economic interest. Moreover, when providing recommendations, they must ensure they hold a licence in accordance with the provisions, and comply with applicable laws and regulations.

On the other hand, in order to enhance consumer protection, the OJK is currently preparing regulations related to financial influencers, or finfluencers, which will be enacted soon.

He confirmed that his party has blocked access to social media content and/or links (URLs) containing offers from unlicensed PAKDs. In line with this, Satgas PASTI will continue to improve coordination among members and relevant agencies to stop the activities of unlicensed PAKDs.

Satgas PASTI once again urged the public to always be vigilant against illegal PAKD offers and to only transact on legal platforms. “The public is expected to always pay attention to ‘Legal and Logical’ (2L), namely ensuring that business actors and financial service products are licensed/registered with the OJK and being wary of investment offers or activities that promise high, guaranteed, and quick returns,” he said.

If members of the public find indications of illegal investment or online loan offers, they can report them through the website sipasti.ojk.go.id or via OJK Contact 157, WhatsApp 081157157157, and email [email protected]. Meanwhile, victims of financial transaction fraud can report through the Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre (IASC) website at iasc.ojk.go.id to support efforts to quickly block the perpetrator’s accounts.
