The Financial Services Authority (OJK) continues to strengthen the development of the ecosystem for Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets (IAKD). This effort is carried out through the reinforcement of regulatory frameworks, governance, consumer protection, and cross-stakeholder collaboration to create a safe, integral, and sustainable digital financial industry.

Chair of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, emphasised that the rapid development of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and asset tokenisation brings both opportunities and significant challenges. She made the statement at the National Symposium and IAKD Stakeholder Consultation Forum held with the Indonesian Blockchain Association (ABI) in Jakarta on Thursday.

“Amidst today’s rapid technological advancement, we are faced with various challenges to ensure innovation continues to grow while maintaining market integrity, consumer protection, and financial system stability,” Friderica said.

Friderica explained that the regulatory refinement through Law Number 4 of 2026, which amends the P2SK Law, represents the state’s commitment to ensuring the financial sector can adapt to the dynamics of technology business models. The development of secure digital finance is also one of the OJK’s eight strategic programmes to support the green economy, MSMEs, and increased financial inclusion.

Based on OJK data, the IAKD sector is showing a positive growth trend. Adi Budiarso, Chief Executive of IAKD Supervision at OJK, revealed that the authority is currently drafting the IAKD OJK Roadmap 2026-2031. This roadmap is designed based on four main principles: Affordability, Integrity, Agility, and Sovereignty.

“We are committed to realising a sovereign and affordable IAKD ecosystem to strengthen national competitiveness and provide benefits for the national economy,” Adi stated.

In agreement, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives for Economic and Financial Affairs, Sari Yuliati, stated that Law Number 4 of 2026 serves as an architecture to maintain a balance between accelerating innovation and providing comprehensive public protection.

Through this forum, the OJK gathered strategic input regarding the development of asset tokenisation, stablecoins, digital asset taxation, cybersecurity, Over-the-Counter (OTC) transactions, and the development of a Single Investor Identifier (SID). The event was also attended by the Chair of Commission XI of the House of Representatives, Mukhamad Misbakhun, along with representatives from the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), the Ministry of Creative Economy, academics, and industry practitioners to ensure the resulting policies are inclusive and visionary.
