RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The surge in digital fraud cases has prompted the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to strengthen its consumer protection system by developing an integrated platform to expedite fraud reporting and track suspicious transactions.

The National Fraud Portal is being developed through the Indonesia Anti-Scam Center (IASC). The platform is designed to integrate report collection, data exchange, and investigations, enabling faster and more coordinated responses to financial crimes.

“This process involves aligning governance aspects, operational readiness, and the necessary data integration to ensure the system operates effectively,” said OJK Executive Head for Financial Services Industry Conduct Supervision, Education, and Consumer Protection, Dicky Kartikoyono, in a written statement in Jakarta on Sunday, May 24, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Dicky added that OJK is coordinating with various stakeholders to accelerate the system’s development. Collaboration is also underway with the financial services and telecommunications sectors to strengthen the handling of public complaints.

From January through April 29, 2026, OJK recorded 14,232 complaints related to illegal entities. The majority involved illegal online loans (11,753 reports), followed by illegal investments (2,379 reports) and illegal pawnbroking (100 reports).

Meanwhile, the Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) shut down 951 illegal online loan entities and three illegal investment offers found on websites and apps, in an effort to prevent public losses.

Since its launch on November 22, 2024, through April 29, 2026, the IASC has received 548,093 fraud reports. Of these, 279,104 were submitted directly by victims, while 268,989 were forwarded through banks and payment system providers.

The IASC also recorded 932,138 accounts linked to fraud, with 485,758 accounts blocked. Funds successfully frozen amounted to IDR 614.3 billion (approximately USD 34.71 million). Of that, IDR 169.3 billion has been returned to victims through 19 banks. In addition, the IASC identified 106,477 phone numbers associated with fraudulent activities. ***
