The controversy over the delayed transaction of the account belonging to Supriyono, also known as Botok, coordinator of the Pati United Community Alliance (AMPB), has now drawn the attention of the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

OJK is currently examining the decision to delay transactions on the account, including ensuring that the process carried out by the bank complies with applicable regulations.

Dian Ediana Rae, Chief Executive of Banking Supervision at OJK, said the authority would take supervisory action if violations were found in the process.

“OJK affirms that if, during the examination and supervision process, violations of applicable regulations are found, OJK will take supervisory measures and follow-up actions in accordance with its authority,” Dian said in a written response to ANTARA on Tuesday, 25 August 2026.

Dian said OJK is also coordinating with a number of stakeholders to resolve the matter. The bank concerned has been asked to continue coordinating and taking steps to resolve the issue during the transaction delay period in accordance with the rules.

OJK will also monitor the steps taken by the bank, including the process of restoring account access once all stages during the delay period have been completed and a conclusion has been reached.

“Regarding the issue that has emerged in several news reports concerning one of the banks, OJK is paying close attention to the matter and is currently coordinating with the bank’s management,” Dian said.

Dian stressed that, based on information received by OJK, the bank’s handling of the account remains in line with applicable regulations.

The delay of customer account transactions has a legal basis in Law Number 8 of 2010 on the Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering (TPPU Law).

In addition, OJK has regulated the transaction delay mechanism through Article 47 of POJK Number 8 of 2023 on the implementation of anti-money laundering, prevention of terrorism financing, and prevention of financing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in the financial services sector.

Under these rules, financial service providers may delay transactions if they meet the established criteria. One such criterion is when they receive an order or request to delay a transaction from PPATK, investigators, public prosecutors, or judges.

The transaction delay is carried out for a maximum of five working days from the time the action is taken.
