The Financial Services Authority (OJK) views the interest of companies in conducting Initial Public Offerings (IPO) in the capital market as remaining steady, with 15 companies entering the pipeline up to the end of May 2026, with an indicative value of Rp3.67 trillion.

The Chief Executive of Capital Market, Derivatives, and Carbon Exchange Supervision at OJK, Hasan Fawzi, stated that these companies are expected to proceed with their IPOs this year after submitting their registration statements.

“Moving forward, we hope to re-invite the interest of companies to raise capital through the IPO process, which we expect to see an increase and a return to growth over time,” Hasan said during a press conference following the May 2026 RDKB meeting in Jakarta on Friday.

He explained that, in general, OJK remains active in various efforts to encourage companies to utilise the capital market through IPOs, which can serve as an alternative source of long-term funding for business activities.

According to Hasan, OJK routinely organises socialisation and education programmes for prospective issuers from various regions, sectors, and business scales, including medium-sized enterprises and high-growth potential companies. These activities are conducted through socialisation programmes, coaching clinics, and discussion forums with market participants to provide an understanding of the benefits of an IPO, the mechanisms and technicalities of share listing, and the various preparations required to become a public company.

Hasan added that OJK, together with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), is also running a regional financial development programme towards IPOs through coaching clinics involving capital market supporting professionals. This programme aims to assist companies facing obstacles in the IPO process while simultaneously improving readiness in terms of governance, financial reporting, organisational structure, and other compliance aspects that are primary requirements before a company can conduct a share offering via an IPO.

Furthermore, OJK is currently conducting a study on public offering regulations, including the simplification of public offering documents. This step is expected to help accelerate the public offering process without compromising the quality of the listed companies.
