OJK Speaks Out on Two Upcoming MSCI Announcements
Jakarta — Global index provider MSCI will soon deliver important announcements for Indonesia’s capital market industry. Two agendas will determine the fate of the country’s stock market, namely the results of the MSCI Accessibility Review on 19 June 2026 and the MSCI Classification announcement on 24 June 2026.
Hasan Fawzi, Chief Executive of Capital Market, Derivative Finance, and Carbon Exchange Supervision at the Financial Services Authority (OJK), stated that the OJK had held another technical team meeting with MSCI analysts on 10 June 2026. The meeting discussed the required data and information.
“So far they have confirmed, utilised, and received all the necessary information and data, particularly regarding disclosure and share ownership information in publicly listed companies on the exchange,” he said when met at the DPR RI building in Jakarta on Wednesday (17/6/2026).
Hasan noted that MSCI’s announcement the day after tomorrow regarding market accessibility is not solely aimed at the Indonesian stock market, but is part of their routine review. “Then on the 23rd, we are also awaiting the announcement regarding market classification or a review of market classifications, including our exchange,” he continued.
Hasan added that the OJK is currently awaiting the decision from the international institution, as it will be a major catalyst determining the direction of future foreign fund flows. “Of course, once again, this is not specific to our exchange but will also be conducted for all other exchanges whose MSCI indices refer to the respective exchange,” he concluded.
