The Financial Services Authority’s (OJK) Financial Illegal Activities Eradication Task Force (Satgas PASTI) has halted the operations of Appeninc, VID, and Sensenowai as of Monday, 25 May 2026, following allegations of investment fraud, according to Bloomberg Technoz.

Appeninc and VID were targeted for impersonating foreign companies with legitimate licenses, while Sensenowai was shut down for suspected cryptocurrency fraud. Authorities have blocked access to their digital platforms and are coordinating with law enforcement for criminal proceedings.

A statement from Satgas PASTI confirmed: “In light of these findings, Satgas PASTI has ceased Appeninc, VID, and Sensenowai’s operations and will block access to their apps and related URLs. The task force will also coordinate with law enforcement for further action.”

Appeninc mimicked Appen Inc, a licensed US firm based in Colorado, while VID falsely claimed affiliation with Video Media Company Limited, a UK-based advertising agency that does not offer investment services. Verification confirmed both violated permits from the Ministry of Investment and Hilirisasi/BKPM and were not registered as Electronic System Providers with the Ministry of Communications and Digital.

Appeninc operated through a photo-guessing app, while VID used ad-watching apps and fake project financing offers, requiring members to deposit funds and recruit new users for daily bonuses. Sensenowai employed a similar scheme via its Wapex copy-trading app. Despite operating as PTs or sole proprietorships across Indonesia, Sensenowai’s activities contravened BKPM permits and lacked PSE registration.
