OJK: Seven Regulatory Sandbox Participants Have Completed Testing Process
The Executive Head of Supervision for Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets at the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Adi Budiarso, stated that seven participants in the Regulatory Sandbox have completed the testing process.
“As of September 2026, there have been seven sandbox participants who completed the testing process and were declared successful. Their business models include gold tokenisation, securities tokenisation under fund management schemes, tokenisation of property ownership benefits, the issuance of rupiah stablecoins, non-trading digital financial asset custody, and crypto fund managers,” he said during a press conference regarding the OJK Financial Services Sector Assessment and Policy in Jakarta on Monday.
Referring to OJK Regulation Number 3 of 2024 concerning the Implementation of Financial Sector Technology Innovation (ITSK), he continued, providers of ITSK with business models identical to the seven successful sandbox participants have the right to register with the OJK without undergoing the sandbox development testing process.
Currently, he noted, there are four sandbox participants—comprising one provider with a digital financial and crypto asset business model and three market supporters—who are presently undergoing the testing process.
OJK is also reportedly evaluating five applications to become sandbox participants, consisting of two business models for digital financial assets (crypto assets) and three market supporter business models.
Regarding the implementation of ITSK as of September 2026, there are eight alternative credit raters (PKA) and 16 financial service aggregator providers (PAJK) registered with the OJK.
As of August 2026, ITSK providers have successfully established 1,389 partnerships with financial service institutions and other parties. Furthermore, PAJK-type ITSK providers have completed transactions approved by partners worth Rp2.27 trillion, with a recorded user base of 19.70 million spread across Indonesia.
“Additionally, the volume of credit scoring data requests, or total inquiries per hit, received by PKA-type ITSK providers during August 2026 reached 28.71 million hits,” added Adi Budiarso.
