OJK Seizes IDR 113.97 Billion in Assets in Prolife Life Insurance Case, Chief Vows Consumer Protection

The Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Friderica Widyasari Dewi, known as Kiki, announced that the authority has successfully seized assets worth IDR 113.97 billion and hundreds of other pieces of evidence from a criminal insurance case involving PT Asuransi Jiwa Prolife Indonesia, also known as PT Asuransi Jiwa Indosurya Sukses (Indosurya). She explained that the criminal act relates to the alleged neglect or obstruction of compensation payments to consumers amounting to IDR 566.24 billion, as per a written order from the OJK in 2023. “This case is connected to the alleged neglect or obstruction of the exercise of OJK’s authority during the 2020 to 2023 period,” Kiki stated during a press conference at the OJK Building in Central Jakarta on Thursday, 9 July 2026. “It also relates to the alleged failure to execute the OJK’s 2023 written order to pay compensation to consumers totalling IDR 566.24 billion,” she added. Kiki acknowledged that this case has been a major focus for the OJK in recent years, as it concerns consumer protection measures regarding their rights to legal and economic certainty. “Because for us at the OJK, consumer protection is something we will continue to strive for,” Kiki said. She also reported that from this case, the OJK investigation team has managed to seize hundreds of assets with a substantial total economic value.
