The Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Friderica Widyasari Dewi, has disclosed the seizure of assets belonging to PT Asuransi Jiwa Prolife, previously named PT Asuransi Jiwa Indosurya Sukses, totalling IDR 113.97 billion. The assets, comprising cash and property, were seized after the company was proven to have harmed its consumers.

‘OJK investigators have taken various steps, from investigation to the seizure of evidence and economically valuable assets,’ said Friderica in Jakarta on Thursday, 9 July 2026.

Friderica stated that PT Asuransi Jiwa Prolife was proven to have harmed its consumers by using customer funds for personal interests. Based on the investigation results, the case relates to the alleged neglect or obstruction of OJK’s authority during the 2020 to 2023 period, as well as the alleged failure to execute a 2023 written order from OJK to pay compensation to consumers amounting to IDR 566.24 billion.

The case, Friderica noted, has also become a major concern for OJK because it involves the protection of consumers and the public, who have the right to legal certainty and protection of their economic rights. ‘So we ensure that all growth and innovation developments in the financial sector do not sacrifice the interests of consumers and the public.’

In the case of PT Asuransi Jiwa Prolife Indonesia, a team from OJK, assisted by law enforcement officials from the Indonesian National Police, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, has seized assets belonging to the company.

Furthermore, Friderica stated that to date, 485 pieces of evidence have been seized and secured, with the total value of assets successfully seized and secured reaching IDR 113.97 billion. ‘These assets are in the form of cash and several property assets seized from the owner,’ said Friderica. ‘This demonstrates that OJK’s investigation function is working well, and this is certainly due to the synergy and collaboration with ministries and institutions.’
