The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is seeking to strengthen financing access for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). OJK Board of Commissioners Chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi stated that support for MSMEs and deepening market access are priorities, as discussed during a meeting with the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) and Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives. “Earlier, members of Commission XI raised many questions about MSME credit. This is a collective task for us to ensure MSME credit can grow,” she said after the meeting. The authority is projecting that credit disbursement to MSME players will grow by 7-9 percent year-on-year (YoY) in 2026. Friderica explained that the banking sector remains resilient with positive credit growth, noting that bank credit grew by 11.5 percent to approximately Rp8,600 trillion, while liquidity conditions are also well maintained. She confirmed that coordination with KSSK members—comprising the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, and the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS)—is proceeding smoothly to safeguard national financial services sector stability. The OJK is continuously strengthening the national credit information infrastructure through the optimisation of the Financial Information Service System (SLIK). This aims to improve debtor information quality, expand healthy financing access, and support credit distribution to productive sectors, including MSMEs and the 3 Million Houses Programme. The SLIK optimisation, effective from 1 July 2026, includes accelerating credit or financing information updates by Financial Services Business Actors (PUJK) to no later than three working days after settlement, and implementing a debtor information threshold for amounts above Rp1 million to ensure the information presented remains proportional and relevant in credit analysis processes. The OJK stated that its commitment to promoting broader, easier, and more inclusive financing access for MSMEs will be a key pillar in maintaining financial system stability and supporting sustainable economic growth.
