The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has summoned and requested clarification from PT Anugerah Digital Indonesia, the operator of the Information Technology-Based Joint Funding Service (LPBBTI), commonly known as online lending, under the brand ‘Solusiku’, regarding alleged violations in the debt collection process.

Agus Firmansyah, Head of the Surveillance and Integrated Financial Services Sector Policy Department at OJK, stated in Jakarta on Sunday that this step is part of OJK’s supervisory functions and a follow-up to consumer complaints received through the Consumer Protection Portal Application (APPK).

Based on the complaints received, consumers alleged debt collection actions that do not align with consumer protection principles, including the suspected misuse of personal data and the disclosure of information to unauthorised parties.

“OJK is still conducting a deep dive into the truth and completeness of this information based on data, documents, and statements from relevant parties,” said Agus.

Furthermore, the authority is scrutinising the use of official company channels, devices, and numbers in collection activities; the effectiveness of the provider’s supervision over both internal and third-party debt collectors; and the implementation of personal data protection for consumers during the collection process.

OJK has requested the provider to ensure a temporary suspension of any collection actions that potentially violate regulations against consumers who have filed complaints until the complaint handling process is complete. The provider is also required to submit all necessary data, documents, and full clarifications for supervisory purposes.

Additionally, OJK has instructed the Solusiku provider to conduct an internal review of the parties allegedly involved and to take corrective measures in accordance with regulations, while strengthening collection oversight mechanisms, including for both internal staff and third-party collectors.
