Jakarta - The Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) has recorded seven Bank Perkreditan Rakyat (BPR) and Bank Pembiayaan Rakyat Syariah (BPRS) whose business licences were revoked by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) by the end of April 2026. LPS Chairman Anggito Abimanyu stated that three of the seven BPR and BPRS will enter the resolution process this year. The resolution process is the stage for resolving failed banks after the business licence is revoked, encompassing asset protection up to the payment of customer deposit insurance claims. “The number of BPR undergoing liquidation throughout 2026 up to 30 April is seven BPR/BPRS whose business licences have been revoked by OJK,” said Anggito during a press conference of the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) at the Radius Prawiro Tower, Jakarta, on Thursday (7/5/2026). The total eligible deposits from the seven banks amount to Rp 1.53 trillion. Meanwhile, the value of claims that have been handled reaches Rp 304.8 billion. Despite the closure of several BPR and BPRS, Anggito assessed that the situation remains within normal limits and does not indicate an increase compared to previous years. “So the pattern is still a normal pattern for 2026,” he said.
