OJK Revokes Licence of BPR Syariah Hasanah Mandiri After Failed Recovery
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has revoked the business licence of PT Bank Perekonomian Rakyat (BPR) Syariah Hasanah Mandiri, located in Cinere, Depok City, West Java, after its management and shareholders failed to undertake recovery measures as required. The licence revocation is stipulated in Decree of the OJK Board of Commissioners Number KEP-57/D.03/2026 dated 16 July 2026 concerning the Revocation of the Business Licence of BPR Syariah Hasanah Mandiri. “The revocation of PT BPR Syariah Hasanah Mandiri’s business licence is part of the supervisory actions taken by OJK to continuously maintain and strengthen the banking industry and preserve public trust,” said Head of OJK Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi, Edwin Nurhadi, in a statement received in Jakarta on Friday. OJK also urged customers of PT BPR Syariah Hasanah Mandiri to remain calm, as public funds in banks, including BPRs, are guaranteed by the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) in accordance with applicable regulations. Previously, on 3 July 2025, OJK had designated PT BPR Syariah Hasanah Mandiri as a bank under Sharia BPR Recovery (BDP) supervision status. This designation was based on the consideration that its capital adequacy ratio (KPMM) was below the requirement (negative 47.98 percent) and its average cash ratio over the last three months was 0.61 percent, or less than 5 percent. On 2 July 2026, OJK placed PT BPR Syariah Hasanah Mandiri under BPR Resolution (BDR) supervision status. This was based on the consideration that OJK had provided sufficient time for the management and shareholders to undertake recovery efforts, including resolving capital issues as stipulated in POJK Number 28 of 2023 concerning the Determination of Status and Follow-Up Supervision of BPR and BPRS. However, the management and shareholders of PT BPR Syariah Hasanah Mandiri were unable to carry out the recovery as required. The LPS subsequently decided to handle the Bank in Resolution for PT BPR Syariah Hasanah Mandiri by liquidating the bank and requesting OJK to revoke its business licence. This is stipulated in the Decree of the Board of Commissioners for the Deposit Insurance and Bank Resolution Programme Number 99/ADK3/2026 dated 8 July 2026 concerning the Handling of the Bank in Resolution of PT Bank Perekonomian Rakyat Syariah Hasanah Mandiri. Following up on the LPS request, and pursuant to Article 19 of the aforementioned POJK, OJK revoked the business licence of PT BPR Syariah Hasanah Mandiri. With this licence revocation, LPS will carry out its guarantee function and conduct the liquidation process in accordance with Law Number 24 of 2004 concerning the Deposit Insurance Corporation, as amended by Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector.
