Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has revoked the business permit of PT Bank Perekonomian Rakyat Syariah (BPRS) Gaido Indonesia, located on Jalan Raya Bandung Number 75, Sadewata, Karangtengah District, Cianjur Regency, West Java Province.

This action is in accordance with the Decision of the OJK Board of Commissioners Member Number KEP-64/D.03/2026, dated 1 September 2026, regarding the Revocation of the Business Permit of PT Bank Perekonomian Rakyat Syariah Gaido Indonesia.

The Head of OJK West Java, Darwisman, stated in Jakarta on Wednesday that the revocation of BPRS Gaido Indonesia’s business permit is part of the supervisory measures undertaken by the OJK to continuously strengthen the banking industry and maintain public trust.

Previously, on 15 August 2025, the OJK designated BPRS Gaido Indonesia as a Sharia Rural Bank under ‘Under Recovery’ (BDP) supervisory status. This status was determined based on the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) falling below the required threshold, specifically at negative 7.56 per cent. Furthermore, its health rating for two consecutive periods was Composite Rating 5 (PK-5), specifically for the periods of December 2024 and June 2025.

Subsequently, on 13 August 2026, the OJK designated BPRS Gaido Indonesia as a bank under ‘Under Resolution’ (BDR) supervisory status. This designation was made after considering that the OJK had provided sufficient time for the management and shareholders of BPRS Gaido Indonesia to undertake recovery efforts, particularly in addressing capital and liquidity issues.

This is also in accordance with the Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) Number 28 of 2023, dated 29 December 2023, concerning the Determination of Status and Follow-up Supervision of Rural Banks and Sharia Rural Banks.

However, the OJK noted that the management and shareholders of BPRS Gaido Indonesia were unable to implement recovery measures in accordance with the requirements.

Consequently, the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) decided on the handling method for the bank under resolution by proceeding with the bank’s liquidation and requesting the OJK to revoke the business permit of the BPRS.

This decision is set out in the Decision of the Member of the Board of Commissioners for the Deposit Insurance and Bank Resolution Programme of the LPS, Number 118/ADK3/2026, dated 20 August 2026, regarding the Method of Handling Banks under Resolution for PT BPR Syariah Gaido Indonesia.

Following the request from the LPS, and based on Article 19 of POJK 28/2023, the OJK has proceeded with the revocation of the business permit for BPRS Gaido Indonesia.

With the revocation of this business permit, the LPS will carry out its guarantee functions and conduct the liquidation process, in accordance with the Law on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (UU P2SK).

The OJK advised customers of BPRS Gaido Indonesia to remain calm and not be influenced by unverified information. Public funds in the banking sector, including Sharia Rural Banks, are guaranteed by the LPS in accordance with applicable regulations.

For further information regarding the guarantee mechanism and the fund disbursement process, customers may contact the LPS via call centre 154, WhatsApp 0811-1154-154, or email at informasi@lps.go.id.
