Jakarta – The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has revoked the operating licence of PT Bank Perekonomian Rakyat (BPR) Koperindo Jaya, located in Petojo Utara, Central Jakarta, following the failure of its management and shareholders to rehabilitate the bank.

The revocation was formalised in OJK Board Member Decision Number KEP-22/D.03/2026 dated 9 March 2026 concerning the revocation of operating licence for PT BPR Koperindo Jaya.

Edwin Nurhadi, Head of the OJK’s Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi Regional Office, stated that the licence revocation represents part of OJK’s supervisory actions aimed at strengthening the banking industry and maintaining public confidence.

On 22 January 2025, OJK designated BPR Koperindo Jaya as a bank under supervisory status for rehabilitation (BDP), based on its minimum capital adequacy ratio (KPMM) falling significantly below requirements at negative 35.49 per cent and its soundness level (TKS) receiving a “Not Healthy” rating.

Subsequently, on 21 January 2026, OJK reclassified BPR Koperindo Jaya as a bank under resolution status (BDR), having allowed management and shareholders sufficient time to implement rehabilitation measures, including addressing capital deficiencies. This classification was made in accordance with OJK Regulation (POJK) Number 28 of 2023 dated 29 December 2023 concerning the determination of status and supervisory follow-up actions for rural banks.

However, the bank’s management and shareholders were unable to rehabilitate the institution.

Consequently, the Deposit Insurance Agency (LPS) determined that bank liquidation was the appropriate resolution method and requested that OJK revoke the bank’s operating licence. This decision was formalised in Board Member Decision Number 20/ADK3/2026 dated 3 March 2026 concerning the handling method for PT BPR Koperindo Jaya.

In response to the LPS request, OJK revoked the operating licence of PT BPR Koperindo Jaya in accordance with Article 19 of POJK Number 28 of 2023.

With the licence revocation, the LPS will exercise its guarantee function and conduct the liquidation process in accordance with Law Number 24 of 2004 concerning the Deposit Insurance Agency, as amended by Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector.

OJK reassured customers of PT BPR Koperindo Jaya that their deposits remain protected under the LPS guarantee scheme in accordance with applicable regulations.
