OJK Reveals Outcome of Meeting with MSCI on Market Reforms
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Financial Services Authority (OJK) states that the global index institution MSCI has given a positive evaluation of Indonesia’s capital market reforms. This response emerged following a series of improvements by the regulator to enhance transparency and integrity in the market.
The Executive Head of OJK’s Capital Market Supervision, Hasan Fawzi, said the meeting with MSCI was constructive and demonstrated recognition of the progress in reforms.
“In that meeting, it was very good, constructive, and positive. They expressed acknowledgement of the various progresses and achievements from the integrity reform agenda in our capital market,” Hasan stated at the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Jakarta, on Monday (27/4/2026).
One point that received attention was the openness of share ownership data, including ownership above 1 percent. This data will be used by MSCI in the index evaluation process.
OJK also introduced a list of shares with concentrated ownership or high shareholding concentration. As of early April 2026, there were nine shares in that category.
“It was immediately responded to positively and will be utilised for considerations, including for exclusions,” said Hasan.
