The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has recorded that access to financing for the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector is showing fairly good development. This is reflected in total MSME financing reaching Rp 1,948.7 trillion.

“OJK data shows that in June 2026, total cross-sector MSME financing reached Rp 1,948.72 trillion, growing 2.16% year-on-year,” said Chief Executive of Banking Supervision at OJK Dian Ediana Rae at the UMKM Finance Summit 2026 at Hotel Bidakara Jakarta, Tuesday (11/8/2026).

Dian explained that the growth in MSME financing access was supported by all financial services sectors, with the capital market sector growing 12.25% year-on-year (yoy), the PVML sector growing 7.03% yoy, and the banking sector growing 1.21% yoy.

Although the highest MSME contribution came from the capital market sector, the financing portion is still dominated by the banking sector at 82.44%, followed by PVML at 17.50%, and the capital market at 0.06%.

Meanwhile, in June 2026, banking MSME credit reached Rp 1,519.35 trillion or 16.73% of total banking credit, with growth of 1.65% year-on-year and an NPL ratio of 4.54%. This figure shows that credit quality remains relatively well maintained.

Dian stated that MSME financing is fundamentally not merely a matter of fund availability. It is also about the relationship between various components within a complete and integrated ecosystem.

“Many MSME entrepreneurs are still unable to access formal financing because they continue to face limitations in business capacity, legality, financial record-keeping, market information, and connectivity with supply chains,” he said.

Dian added that the various financing and empowerment programmes that have been run by the government, the financial services industry, and various stakeholders still require strengthened synergy so that they can complement each other and provide optimal impact.

“OJK sees the need for more integrated engagement through the development of a financing and empowerment ecosystem for MSMEs by utilising business development stages, from capacity building, mentoring, market access, digitalisation, to financing that suits the business cycle and characteristics,” he concluded.
