OJK Reveals 7 Investment Managers to Participate in Gold ETF Launch on 10 August
Going forward, certainly even more investment managers will participate in the issuance of the Gold ETF in Indonesia.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has revealed that between five and seven investment managers (MI) will take part in the launch of the gold Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) investment instrument on 10 August 2026.
Hasan Fawzi, Chief Executive of Capital Market, Derivative Finance and Carbon Exchange Supervision (PMDK) at OJK, confirmed that OJK, together with the Self-Regulatory Organisations (SROs), continues to support all stakeholders in the investment management industry in their efforts to realise the issuance of the Gold ETF.
“In this regard, the issuance process will certainly take into account aspects of regulatory compliance and investor protection. Regarding the number of investment managers taking part, the initial launch planned for the second semester of 2026 involves 5 to 7 parties (MI),” Hasan said in a written response at the press conference for the July 2026 Monthly Board of Commissioners Meeting (RDKB) in Jakarta on Thursday.
Hasan explained that the launch of the Gold ETF investment instrument naturally needs to consider the readiness of stakeholders, both in terms of infrastructure and the operations of each party involved.
He expressed confidence that more investment managers would declare their interest in participating in the issuance of the Gold ETF in the Indonesian financial market going forward.
“Going forward, certainly even more investment managers will participate in the issuance of the Gold ETF in Indonesia,” Hasan said.
Earlier, Director of Development at PT Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Idiing Pardi, revealed that the IDX is targeting the launch of the Gold ETF investment instrument on 10 August 2026, coinciding with the 49th anniversary of the Indonesian Capital Market.
“Later, God willing, it will be launched on the capital market’s anniversary, 10 August 2026. Hopefully, please pray for it,” said Iding.
For information, the Gold ETF is an investment instrument in the form of a mutual fund traded on the stock exchange, with gold as its underlying asset. Through this product, investors can gain exposure to gold price movements without having to directly purchase or store physical gold.
