The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has revealed that enthusiasm among companies to seek alternative funding in the capital market remains quite high. OJK Chief Executive of Capital Market, Derivative Finance, and Carbon Exchange Supervision Hasan Fawzi stated there are 61 public offering plans in the pipeline with an integrative value of approximately Rp 52.38 trillion. “So interest in fundraising to support corporate and government activities recorded this year remains high,” he said at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) building in Jakarta on Tuesday (30/6/2026). Fundraising value so far in 2026 has reached Rp 81.09 trillion. This achievement is considered quite good amid conditions full of uncertainty and challenges this year. However, Hasan noted that capital market performance can be quickly tested when market confidence comes under pressure. He said developments in the first half of this year should serve as a reminder that sound economic fundamentals alone are not always sufficient. Based on trading data as of 26 June 2026, the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) had undergone a deep correction of 31.81% year-to-date. At the same time, foreign investors recorded a net sell of Rp 71.68 trillion throughout the current year. “These dynamics confirm that confidence remains the main factor determining the direction of capital market movements in the region,” he stated. Therefore, Hasan said, Indonesia must not only build a large and active capital market but also present a capital market capable of fostering trust as the primary foundation for the development of its entire ecosystem. “This trust is not a task that can be accomplished through a single policy or by a single institution alone. Trust is the result of consistency across the entire capital market ecosystem in safeguarding their respective integrity,” he concluded.
