OJK Records Crypto Asset Transactions Reaching IDR 23 Trillion as of May
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has noted that public interest in crypto asset investment continues to grow. This is reflected in the number of accounts, which reached 22.4 million as of the end of May 2026.
“Regarding the development of crypto asset activities in Indonesia, as of May 2026 the number of accounts has reached 22.4 million, growing by 3.17% month to date,” said Adi Budiarso, Chief Executive of the Supervision of Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets (IAKD) at the OJK, during a virtual press conference on Tuesday (7/7/2026).
Adi further stated that crypto asset transactions up to May 2026 amounted to IDR 23.01 trillion, while the transaction value of digital financial asset (AKD) derivatives was recorded at IDR 5.69 trillion.
According to him, amidst the fluctuations in transaction values, consumer confidence in the digital financial asset ecosystem, including crypto assets in Indonesia, remains well-maintained.
On the other hand, he also explained that Financial Sector Technology Innovation (ITSK) providers, specifically Financial Service Aggregation Providers (PAJK), have completed partner-approved transactions worth IDR 2.19 trillion. The number of PAJK users was recorded at 18.29 million, spread across all regions of Indonesia.
In addition, the number of credit scoring data requests, or total inquiry per hit, received by ITSK providers operating as Alternative Credit Rating agencies (PKA) reached 26.69 million hits in May 2026.
