JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is investigating entities offering debt resolution services for online loans. Dicky Kartikoyono, Executive Head of Financial Services Business Conduct, Education, and Consumer Protection at OJK, said the findings came from cyber patrols. Information was also obtained from the Task Force for Eradicating Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) in various regions. Several entities are suspected of offering debt resolution services by charging fees from the public. These entities also claim to be registered with the OJK. “Currently, the information is under further investigation to determine the necessary follow-up actions,” Dicky Kartikoyono said in a written response received in Jakarta on Sunday, 24 May 2026. Public vigilance should be heightened, particularly if offers request upfront payments, use OJK branding, or falsely claim to be associated with the OJK. “Consumers are urged to always verify the legitimacy and accuracy of information through OJK’s official channels before conducting transactions or sharing personal data,” Dicky said. The OJK, through Satgas PASTI, previously halted operations of an entity with a similar modus operandi. The entity was PT Malahayati Nusantara Raya, or Malahayati. Malahayati offered online loan consultation services, debt collection services, and capital development and disbursement programmes to the public. Several of the company’s published contents were identified as using the OJK logo. The company also claimed to be licensed and registered with the OJK. Malahayati was also operating activities inconsistent with the licence issued by the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry. Satgas PASTI subsequently blocked access to social media accounts and related links or URLs. The suspension of operations and blocking of links remain in effect until the necessary licensing requirements are met.
