OJK Prepares Special Policy on SLIK to Support Subsidised Housing

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is prepared to issue a special policy related to the OJK Financial Services Information System (SLIK) to support subsidised housing for the people.

The Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, conveyed hopes and the issues occurring in the field related to SLIK. We welcome what the Minister has conveyed, and we will, God willing, issue a special policy related to SLIK, said OJK Commissioner Chairman Friderica Widyasari Dewi in Jakarta on Monday.

Friderica, or familiarly known as Kiki, explained that SLIK has a good purpose: to provide a track record to financial services actors regarding individuals and how individuals are responsible for their behaviour in the financial sector.

However, we understand the concerns raised, so we will set a threshold for the information submitted in SLIK that is not from zero. Currently, even one rupiah, two rupiah, or three rupiah is recorded. This is one of our efforts to support the programme from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, she said.

Kiki stated that OJK views BP Tapera as a trusted state institution that can also access SLIK to facilitate and accelerate assistance for low-income communities (MBR) in obtaining the housing programme. OJK is ready to support this.

Furthermore, regarding SLIK, there were previously complaints from housing developers that if someone had completed repayment, the information took a long time to appear in SLIK, up to 1.5 months later. We have made technical adjustments to ensure that it will be a maximum of three days, she said.

According to her, information about them having completed repayment or changes in their financial records in SLIK will be visible to developers, who can then convey it to banks so that they can obtain financing and so on.
