The Financial Services Authority (OJK), through its Deputy Commissioner for Financial System Stability, Agus E. Siregar, has explained that the optimisation of the Financial Information Service System (SLIK) launched today has four main objectives. The first goal is to support the national economic development programme, one of which is by expanding financing access, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). “The next is to accelerate data currency through faster reporting of settled credit and financing, so that the information in SLIK becomes more up-to-date,” Agus said at the SLIK system enhancement event at the Bank Indonesia (BI) building in Jakarta on Monday, 6 July 2026. The third objective is to minimise potential public or debtor complaints regarding facilities that have been settled but not yet updated. “Lastly, it is to strengthen the financial ecosystem through a more credible credit system, in order to maintain financial system stability and strengthen consumer protection,” he stated. Agus explained that the enhancements include accelerating the reporting of credit and financing data that has been settled or completed. “This step is important so that people who have fulfilled their obligations receive debtor information that is more in line with current conditions,” Agus said. He added that for financial service institutions, more up-to-date data is believed to support more accurate analysis and reduce the risk of decision-making based on outdated information. Another enhancement, Agus explained, is the adjustment of the scope of debtor information displayed in the SLIK debtor report. The information is focused on debtors with an initial ceiling and outstanding balance above Rp1 million cumulatively based on the debtor’s identity number. “This adjustment is estimated to impact around 18 million debtors who still have a cumulative credit nominal above Rp1 million,” Agus said. These two optimisation steps are confirmed to support the government’s agenda in providing decent and affordable housing through the 3 Million Homes programme. This is because more current and relevant debtor information will help the housing payment assessment process, including subsidised Housing Loans (KPR), more accurately and efficiently while maintaining prudential principles.
