RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Changes to the composition of the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) index have once again drawn attention to the position of Indonesian stocks in the global market. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) confirmed that opportunities for domestic issuers to be included in international indices remain wide open.

Executive Head of Capital Market, Derivatives, and Carbon Exchange Supervision at the OJK, Hasan Fawzi, said several Indonesian stocks meet the performance metrics required for inclusion in the MSCI index group.

“It is only because their policies are currently under a freeze that the inclusion of these stocks has been delayed,” Hasan stated in Jakarta on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

He explained that many domestic issuers still have the potential to be included in the MSCI Small Cap Index or the MSCI Global Standard Index during the next evaluation period. The OJK, together with self-regulatory organizations (SROs), continues to prepare listed companies to meet global market liquidity requirements and standards.

MSCI previously released the results of its May 2026 Index Review for the Indonesian market. In that evaluation, six national stocks were removed from the MSCI Global Standard Index: PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk., PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk., PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk., PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk., PT Petrindo Jaya Kreasi Tbk., and PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk.

On the other hand, MSCI re-included PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk. in the MSCI Global Small Cap Index, reflecting a repositioning based on market capitalization and liquidity.

MSCI also removed several issuers from the MSCI Global Small Cap Index, including PT Aneka Tambang Tbk., PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk., PT Bank Aladin Syariah Tbk., PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk., PT Industri Jamu dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk., and PT Mitra Keluarga Karyasehat Tbk. ***
