OJK names two suspects in capital market case, transactions worth Rp 14.5 trillion
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) named two suspects in a case of alleged criminal acts in the capital market with a transaction value reaching Rp 14.5 trillion.
Executive Director of Investigation in the Financial Services Sector at OJK, Irjen Daniel Bolly Hyronimus, said the designation of the suspects is the result of investigations that had been ongoing for some time.
“Tersangka yang sudah kita lakukan pemeriksaan dan statusnya kita naikkan, itu ada dua, yaitu Saudara AS (selaku beneficial owner PT BEBS) dan Saudara M (selaku mantan direktur investment banking PT MASI),” Daniel said, in SCBD, Jakarta, on Wednesday (4/3/2026).
According to Daniel, the searches were conducted to strengthen the evidentiary tools in the investigation into the corporations believed to still be involved in the case.
“The dossiers for the two suspects have been completed and sent to the Prosecutor’s Office, just awaiting P21 (complete case file -red),” he explained.
The frozen shares total about 2 billion shares with prices around Rp 7,000 per share.
“Their total value is Rp 14.5 trillion. That figure comes from the shares we froze, about 2 billion shares at around Rp 7,000 per share,” he said.
The period of the alleged wrongdoing spanned from 2021 to 2023.
However, OJK has not disclosed the sectors or the underlying assets of the shares involved in the case.
