OJK monitors eight P2P lenders amid potential US tariff exemptions for Indonesia
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has announced that eight peer-to-peer (P2P) lending providers are currently under special supervision. The primary reasons cited for this intervention include capital adequacy issues and high aggregate non-performing loan rates (TWP90). Agusman, the OJK Executive Head of Supervision for Financing Institutions, Venture Capital, Microfinance, and Other Financial Service Institutions, stated in Jakarta that all providers under special supervision will be directed to implement corrective measures in accordance with regulations.
In a separate regulatory matter, the OJK has summoned PT Anugerah Digital Indonesia, the operator of the ‘Solusiku’ P2P lending brand, to clarify allegations regarding violations in debt collection processes. This action follows consumer complaints submitted through the Consumer Protection Portal Application (APPK) and is part of the OJK’s ongoing supervisory functions.
On the international trade front, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs reported that the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) plans to grant 18 product tariff exclusion requests submitted by Indonesia under the Section 301 investigation of the US Trade Act. This move is expected to provide a significant economic stimulus to the national industrial sector by reducing export costs and enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s flagship commodities in the US market.
Regarding infrastructure, the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), expressed Indonesia’s openness to Russian companies participating in the development of strategic railway corridors. Furthermore, the Ministry of Public Works is accelerating the Phase II construction of ‘Sekolah Rakyat’ (People’s Schools) to ensure these educational facilities are ready for the 2026/2027 academic year.
