The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has expressed optimism about the outlook for the Indonesia Stock Exchange Composite Index (IHSG), in line with the strengthening trend seen over the past month.

This was conveyed by OJK Board of Commissioners Chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi at a press conference following the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) meeting at the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) office on Monday (3/8/2026).

Friderica said the authority had recently met with around 100 global investors to hear their views directly on the Indonesian capital market. According to her, the foreign investors appreciated the various reform initiatives undertaken by OJK, although what they most await is consistency in implementation.

“We have just met 100 global investors abroad and we listened to their input. They appreciate the initiatives that have been carried out. What they are waiting for is consistency. We are committed to being consistent,” said Friderica.

Friderica explained that the strengthening of the IHSG over the past month shows a trend of improvement. In addition, fundraising activity in the Indonesian capital market has surpassed Rp113 trillion, which she described as good news for the industry.

“We can see the trend is improving. Fundraising in the Indonesian capital market is more than Rp113 trillion — this is good news,” she said.

She also highlighted a number of initial public offering (IPO) plans still in the pipeline, an indication that market confidence in Indonesia remains well maintained.

In terms of the investor base, OJK has recorded a rising number of investors in the Indonesian capital market as a positive development. Whilst last year the number of Single Investor Identifications (SID) stood at around 20 million, this year the figure has approached 30 million SIDs.

The increase in the number of investors has been accompanied by growth in Assets Under Management (AUM) in the capital market industry. In addition, the presence of a new product in the form of a gold-based ETF is also expected to further boost public interest in investing in the domestic capital market.

Regarding the capital market reform agenda announced since early January, Friderica claimed most of it has been realised, although several measures are still at the stages of progress. Among the achievements mentioned are:

  • The gradual increase of free float in shares

  • Greater disclosure for investors holding more than 1%

  • The submission of Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) data

  • Granular information on investor type classifications, which now number 39 classifications

One point that has drawn broad appreciation, according to Friderica, is the application of new criteria in the High Suspicious Criteria (HSC) list, with the addition of a price impact ratio indicator. These criteria are considered effective in helping to curb trade manipulation practices in the Indonesian capital market.

Friderica also affirmed OJK’s commitment to enforcement against various cases of violations in the capital market. She said a number of sanctions have been imposed, several of which have been announced to the public.

“We are also committed to enforcing the cases that have occurred, and several have been announced regarding the enforcement carried out by OJK. This demonstrates the improvement and reform of the integrity of the Indonesian capital market,” she stressed.
